Quake 4 is a action shooter game and the fourth installment in the Quake series. Developed by Raven Software and id Software, it was released for Windows in 2005 and for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Linux and Mac OS X later on.

The game follows the story of Matthew Kane from Earth's military elite unit known as Rhino Squad. After their spacecraft crash lands on Stroggos, an alien planet invaded by hostile forces known as Stroggs, he embarks on a mission to destroy their leader Makron. The player must fight through various levels of enemy encounters using weapons such as machine guns and rocket launchers while solving puzzles along the way. Players can also join together with up to four other players in cooperative or deathmatch multiplayer modes supported both online or offline via LAN network connections.

The graphics engine used in Quake 4 has been improved compared to its predecessor Quake III Arena with more detailed textures and lighting effects creating a more immersive environment for players to enjoy during battles against enemies.
