S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky is a first-person shooter video game developed by GSC Game World and released in 2008 for Windows PCs. The game takes place five years after the events of April 1986, known as the Second Disaster, which left an area around Chernobyl in ruins and chaos now referred to as “The Zone” or “The Exclusion Zone” - a place full of anomalies, mutants, radiation and other dangers where Stalkers traverse searching for artifacts to sell on the black market.

In S.T.A.LKE: Clear Sky players take control of Scar – a veteran stalker who was sent into The Zone with orders from one of the four major factions vying for control over it; each faction has their own objective in mind ranging from researching anomalous activity to finding powerful weapons within these dangerous areas but all must battle each other while fighting mutants, hostile environments, and even time itself due to frequent blowouts that can open up new paths or close off existing ones at any given moment without warning .
