Gothic II is a video game that follows the story of the original game. After the prisoners have been freed from their prison colony, they are struck by an earthquake which kills many and allows most of the survivors to escape. Only a few remain in the ruined prison colony, setting up for players to embark on an adventure filled with discovery and danger.

Gothic is an action-adventure video game set in a world ravaged by war. The king of the land needs ore to forge weapons to fend off invading Orc hordes, so prisoners from all over the empire are rounded up and thrown into a large magical sphere where they have to work in the mines for the king. The player takes on the role of one such prisoner, tasked with delivering a letter to the high mages which may be key in winning this war against evil forces.

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind is an epic, open-ended single-player game where players create and play whatever character they can imagine. Players take on the role of a hero embarking on an epic quest, or a thief rising to leadership of their guild. Characters may be malevolent sorcerers developing spells of destruction or reverent healers searching for cures to plagues. The player's actions determine how their characters grow and evolve as events unfold in response to those actions. If the player confronts the assassin's guild, they will send out contracts against them; however if they impress them instead, then there is potential for recruitment into the guild instead. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is a single-player RPG set in the fantasy world of Tamriel.
