Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is a tactical espionage action game set in a futuristic battlefield. Players increase their rank from recruit to General by achieving success in-game and unlock awards including new weapons, vehicle decals, medals, etc. The game engine and physics system make it feel more realistic than ever before; for example, the material penetration feature measures a weapon's ability to fire through barriers depending on what they are made out of.

Metal Gear Online is a multiplayer game in the Metal Gear series that runs on the MGS4 engine and is available exclusively for PlayStation 3. Players will be able to take part in various online battles with up to 16 players at once, making use of all of the weapons, gadgets and abilities from Metal Gear Solid 4. The game also includes new levels and modes specifically designed for online play.
