Fallout 2 is a turn-based tactical Western RPG set in post-nuclear California. Players take the role of the Chosen One, who is tasked with exploring this hostile new world and locating the fabled Garden of Eden Creation Kit to save their famine-stricken tribe. Along their journey, they will come into contact with various tribes, factions and microcivilizations as well as interact through branching dialogue trees.

Players must use strategy to survive by scavenging supplies such as weapons, armor and food while fighting off mutated creatures and other survivors.
