Half-Life: Blue Shift is an expansion pack to the popular first-person shooter video game Half-Life released by Valve Software. It was developed by Gearbox Software with help from Valve Corporation and published by Sierra Entertainment on June 12, 2001 (originally set for release in Spring). The game was designed as part of a Dreamcast version of the original Half-Life but after the cancellation of that project it continued development as a standalone product. On August 24, 2005, it was also released on Steam.

Blue Shift takes place in Black Mesa Research Facility during the same time frame as Half-Life’s storyline. Players take control of Barney Calhoun - a security guard from Black Mesa - and experience his story through seven chapters.The missions vary from escaping the facility alive to preventing aliens from entering restricted areas or protecting scientists who are essential for certain tasks inside Black Mesa. Along with Calhoun, players will also encounter other characters such as two friendly HECU Marines and many more enemies like headcrabs, vortigaunts and alien grunts etc..

In order to progress through levels you will need to solve puzzles either involving technology or some sort of strategy while fighting off enemies along your way; blue shift gives players plenty of opportunities to use their wits and abilities when playing this game! The weapons used include crowbar plus various types of guns such shotgun , MP5 submachine gun , 357 Magnum revolver .
