Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 is a turn-based role-playing game developed by Square Enix and released for the Nintendo DS in 2010. Players take on the role of Monster Scouts, who must recruit wild monsters to build a team and battle against other players. Every year, monster scouts from all over the world gather to compete for the title of world’s greatest scout.

In this installment of Dragon Quest Monsters, players crash land on an island after their airship is struck by lightning. They are tasked with rescuing missing passengers and crew members by fighting various enemies using their own monster parties. The only way off the island is to solve its many mysteries. Players can customize their party's composition as well as equip them with items found throughout the game world or crafted through Alchemy Potions or Synthesis Recipes.

Players will also be able to use new abilities like "Fusion" which allows them to combine two monsters into one stronger creature; "Team Attacks" that allow multiple monsters within a single team attack; and "Monster Reform", which gives monsters access to new skillsets based on certain conditions being met during battles.
