Army of Two: The 40th Day is the highly anticipated sequel to Army of Two, a third-person shooter that focuses on teamwork. The game reunites Salem and Rios, two mercenaries who must survive in a city under siege. Players will be able to use more co-op moves than ever before, allowing for completely different strategies and options in battle for an even bigger and more immersive co-op experience.

The story takes place in Shanghai, China where a disaster of epic proportions has struck the city. It's up to Salem and Rios to fight their way through ruined districts of the city while uncovering secrets about the mysterious 40th Day event that is destroying it piece by piece. New features include improved graphics with destructible environments as well as new weapons such as rocket launchers, sniper rifles, machine guns and shotguns which can be customized with camouflage paint jobs or decals for personalization. There are also numerous multiplayer modes including competitive deathmatches, cooperative objectives missions and survival mode where players must face waves of enemies alone or together using all their skills against increasingly powerful foes.
