In Sonic and the Secret Rings, Sonic is mysteriously transported to an Arabian Nights world where he meets a mystical genie who needs his help. The evil genie Erazor Djinn has taken over the storybook world and given Sonic a limited time to deliver him seven World Rings in order to save it. Players will use their Wii Remote tilt controls as they navigate 100 missions across eight wildly varied worlds, gaining new moves and abilities along the way. There are also 40 mini-games that support up to four players, with many requiring varied motions from the Wii Remote such as playing a violin bow or axing logs. With strategic equipping of Sonic's abilities like Speed Break and Time Break, players must race against time before all is lost in this magical storybook world.

Sonic and the Secret Rings is an exciting 3D platform and action game that takes full advantage of the motion-sensing capabilities of the Wii Remote. Players take control of Sonic, the series’ main character, as he embarks on a thrilling adventure to save all seven secret rings from being used by his arch nemesis Dr. Eggman for evil purposes. The Wii Remote is held horizontally like a traditional gamepad, allowing players to intuitively move Sonic around with precise analog movements in order to avoid obstacles and enemies while collecting items along the way.

The game features an interesting “on-rails” style of movement which combines speed and agility with careful maneuvering in order to get through levels quickly without taking damage from enemies or environmental hazards. In addition, there are several different power ups available for each stage which can help Sonic defeat foes more effectively or gain access to otherwise inaccessible areas within each level.
