Ninja Gaiden Sigma is an action-adventure video game developed by Team Ninja for the PlayStation 3. The game serves as a remake of 2004's Xbox classic, Ninja Gaiden and it was released in 2007 to very positive reviews.

The game features various improvements over its predecessor including enhanced visuals, revamped gameplay mechanics and two new playable characters: Rachel from the original release and Momiji from Ninja Gaiden Black. It also includes extra difficulty modes, weapon customization system and online multiplayer support - something missing from the original version of the game.

Gameplay wise, players take on the role of master ninja Ryu Hayabusa as he battles against hordes of demonic creatures in his quest to save humanity. Players can utilize a wide range of weapons such as swords, claws, nunchaku and shurikens while making their way through levels filled with challenging enemies. As they progress through the story mode or fight other players online they will gain experience points which can be used to upgrade Ryu’s abilities or buy special items that can give him an edge during combat.

In 2012 a port for Playstation Vita titled ‘’Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus’’was released alongside launch day for Europe and North America . This version featured upgraded graphics , improved controls more content than ever before plus all DLC packs available at that time .
