Kingdom Hearts is a video game which follows the story of Sora, Riku, and Kairi who are separated after a violent storm hits their home. At the same time turmoil in Disney Castle begins when King Mickey goes missing. Court Wizard Donald and Captain Goofy set out to find him and along their travels they meet Sora who is also on his own search for his lost friends. It's discovered that creatures known as Heartless - beings without hearts derived from an unknown dimension - are responsible for the devastating storm as well as being manipulated by Disney villains. With help from familiar Disney heroes, Sora, Donald and Goofy join forces to save everyone's worlds.

Kingdom Hearts is an action role-playing game like no other. Developed and published by Squaresoft, this PlayStation 2 title combines characters and settings from Disney’s animated features with those from Square’s Final Fantasy series. It was the brainchild of longtime Square character designer Tetsuya Nomura who took on a directorial role for the first time in his career.

The game has an all-star voice cast featuring many of Disney characters’ official voice actors which brings Kingdom Hearts to life. Players can explore various worlds, encounter enemies, and take part in thrilling battles with Heartless creatures using a variety of weapons such as swords, staves, shields and bows.

Players progress through the game by defeating foes which rewards them with experience points that are used to level up their stats which include strength, defence, magic hit points etc.. With each new level attained a predetermined ability will be unlocked too!

While there have been many sequels since its release back in 2002 it's safe to say Kingdom Hearts was ground breaking at the time with its innovative blend of action adventure elements coupled with classic RPG mechanics making it one of the best video games ever released on any platform!
