Freedom Fighters is an action-packed third-person shooter video game that puts players in the shoes of a leader of the resistance movement against Soviet forces invading New York City. Players take on the role of Christopher Stone, a plumber who takes it upon himself to lead the freedom fighters and turn back this invasion.

The gameplay involves navigating through streets fighting off enemy forces while recruiting squad members along the way. Players can gain charisma by performing heroic deeds like capturing bases or destroying vital supplies which allows them to recruit more allies up to a maximum of twelve. The control system for recruits is simple; players can give their troops orders such as “follow”, “attack”, or “defend” but they often take care of themselves given their terrain knowledge from living in New York City after initial occupation by enemies.

Throughout Freedom Fighters there are various missions where you must defend your base from hostile attacks with weapons ranging from pistols and rifles to heavy machine guns and explosives. There are also cooperative multiplayer modes where two players can play together cooperatively completing objectives as one unit with each player controlling six soldiers at once, making communication key during these battles!
