All about game SOMA
SOMA is an unsettling sci-fi horror game from Frictional Games, the creators of Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Penumbra. Set in a mysterious underwater facility PATHOS-II, SOMA takes players on a journey through a place where machines have started to think they are people and supplies are running out.
The game’s story focuses on identity, consciousness, and what it means to be human. Players take control of Simon Jarrett who has suffered memory loss from a car accident and soon learns that something much bigger is going on in PATHOS-II than he initially thought. As the player explores deeper into this dark world filled with secrets about humanity's future, the decisions made shape the outcome of how things will play out for Simon as well as his companions throughout the game.
Gameplay itself consists mostly of puzzle solving while avoiding hostile robotic enemies which roam around PATHOS-II trying to eliminate any human presence they find inside its walls. To survive these encounters players must rely heavily on their wits as they search desperately for items such as weapons or tools needed to progress further into this complex environment while also attempting to stay alive by hiding whenever possible when faced with danger.
Overall, SOMA provides an intense experience full of suspenseful exploration within its atmospheric environments coupled with challenging puzzles that give insight into what it truly means to be human even when faced with life or death situations beyond our control making it one of Frictional Games’ most successful titles yet!
