In Dungeon Munchies, you play as a character who has been revived in an underground complex and must find their way out. You are aided by the Necro-Chef Simmer who helps you stay safe and get fed. The focus of the game is on hunting down creatures, cooking them, and eating dishes to gain certain abilities - with each dish having different effects that can impact your entire play style. To help with combat, players can craft weapons from animal and plant parts they cannot eat. Ingredients for these dishes are hard to come by, requiring the player to face off against electrical snails, razor-sharp shrimp claws, and laser wasps in order to get what they need. Throughout the dungeon there are various characters who have their own goals for you but no one seems quite right in the head - adding an extra layer of mystery to this game!

The game’s mechanics are simple but challenging: use your trusty frying pan to hunt down monsters that randomly spawn across each level. While fighting off enemies with melee weapons or spells, you can also collect ingredients from their corpses which can then be used to craft delicious dishes at campfires found throughout the dungeon. As you progress through the levels, more delectable recipes become available as well as powerful upgrades for your character and weapons.

In addition to battling wild creatures, there are plenty of puzzles scattered throughout Dungeon Munchies that will test your wits and help add depth to the gameplay experience.
