Disciples II: Dark Prophecy is a classic fantasy-strategy video game set in the kingdom of Nevandaar, also known as “The Sacred Lands”. The game features four dominant races at war with one another - humans, dwarves, demons and undead - plus several other “neutral” races such as merfolk, greenskins and elves (the latter of whom become fully playable with the addition of the expansion pack Rise of the Elves).

Gameplay involves three main elements: building up your capital city to research new warriors and spells; using heroes to explore nearby lands for resources and attack enemies; and engaging in tactical battles against opponents. Players must carefully manage their resources while expanding their armies in order to gain an advantage on the battlefield. Heroes are used to lead squads into battle or complete various missions – they can even be used to recruit new units from neutral towns or capture enemy cities!
