Battle Brothers is a turn based strategy RPG mix that transports players to a gritty, low-power, medieval fantasy world. Players take on the role of leading their own mercenary company and are free to make decisions about where to go, whom to hire or fight, what contracts they should take and how they will train and equip their troops in an procedurally generated open world campaign.

The game consists of two main layers: the strategic worldmap layer and the tactical combat layer. On the worldmap players can freely travel around collecting contracts for rewards as well as finding places worth looting, enemies worth pursuing or towns where they can restock supplies and pick up new recruits for their company. The strategic layer also allows them to manage their Battle Brothers’ levels and equipment which is essential if they wish to succeed in battle. When engaging hostile parties on the map it switches over into a tactical mode with detailed turn based combat which tests players’ strategies against enemy forces.

Players need be adept at both tactics and strategy if they wish lead their Battle Brothers through bloody battles all the way victory!
