Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China is a 2.5D side-scrolling platformer set in 16th century China and tells the story of Shao Jun, an Assassin who fled to the West for training under Ezio Auditore before returning home determined to restore her Chinese Brotherhood of Assassins. Players traverse famous locales like Maijishan Grottoes, Port of Macau, Forbidden City and Great Wall of China as Shao Jun uses stealth and agility combined with deadly weapons such as jian sword, shoe blade, rope darts and daggers to exact revenge on those responsible for decimating her Brotherhood.

Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China is the first title in Ubisoft's Assassin’s Creed spin-off series. It takes place after the film Assassin’s Creed: Embers and follows Chinese assassin Shao Jun as she returns to her homeland in 1526 to exact revenge against Eight Tigers, a Templar group that had wiped out her brotherhood.

Players take on the role of Shao Jun as she travels through Macau, Nan'an, The Forbidden City and The Great Wall during her quest for vengeance. Players will use stealth tactics to make their way around enemy guards while making use of parkour moves and various weapons including swords and hidden blades. In order to succeed in completing each mission players must carefully plan their strategy by studying enemy patterns, utilizing tools such as smoke bombs or poison darts when necessary.

Chronicles: China was originally announced in September 2014 along with other titles included in the season pass for Assassin’s Creed Unity before being released on April 21st 2015 on Microsoft Windows, Playstation 4 and Xbox One platforms using Epic Games Unreal Engine 3 technology which gives this game its unique visual style. After finally assassinating Zhang Yong, Shao Jun rebuilds her brotherhood then years later plans an assassination attempt against Jiajing Emperor by sending him an elixir of life so it can be said that Chronicles: China sets up a great story arc for future games which are sure to bring even more excitement into this beloved franchise!
