Anarchy Online is Funcom's massively multiplayer science-fiction online role-playing game, often compared to Everquest. Anarchy Online is a science fiction themed MMORPG set almost 30,000 years into the future. Players take on the role of citizens in a post-apocalyptic world struggling for control over resources and technology. The game features advanced technologies such as common surgical implants and microscopic nano-bots that can offer relief from human suffering or even turn someone into a weapon of mass destruction.

Players are able to choose between various classes, including doctors, engineers, martial artists, spies and mercenaries. Each class has its own unique abilities which can be used to help your character progress through the game content. There is also an extensive crafting system which allows players to build their own weapons and armor using components found throughout the game world or purchased from vendors.

The main story line follows two major factions: Omni-Tek Corporation (the 'good guys'), who want to keep control of technology in order to protect humanity; and Clan (the 'bad guys'), who seek freedom from corporate rule by any means necessary - often involving sabotage or direct confrontation with Omni-Tek forces. As players progress through quests they will have opportunities to join either side as well as uncover secrets behind both groups’ origins and motivations.

In addition to questing there are several other activities for players looking for something different – PvP combat pits characters against each other in arena battles while PvE dungeons provide challenging group content with rare rewards up for grabs at the end! Anarchy Online also offers exciting events such as alien invasions or global raids where all server inhabitants come together in order to complete huge objectives like taking down powerful enemies or saving entire cities from destruction!
