Killzone is a video game set in the future where human colonies have settled many planets, with most of them coming together to form the ISA. However, a separatist faction known as the Helghast has distanced itself and secretly planned an all-out war. The story follows an ISA member trying to escort a high-ranking official to safety when Vekta City’s orbital defense fails and the Helghast deploy their troops rapidly. Drawing inspiration from classical military conflicts of the 20th century, Killzone captures the intense reality of warfare between the ISA and Helghast forces.

In Killzone: Liberation, two months after the events of Killzone (PS2), much of southern Vekta remains under Helghast control. Players take on the role of Templar and are sent on a mission to save hostages captured by General Metrac. This tactical action game features an intelligent third-person camera system for more strategic surveillance during gameplay. Set in a gritty postmodern war, players will have access to unique weapons inspired by modern military equipment. Graphically, it showcases realism with its unique graphical style that was seen in the previous PS2 title as well.
