Yar's Revenge, originally released in 1981 by Atari and developed by Howard Scott Warshaw, was a classic shoot 'em up game for the Atari 2600. It tells the story of Yar, an alien bug-like creature on a mission to save his home planet from destruction at the hands of an evil enemy force called "The Qotile".

Fast forward 30 years later and we get a reimagining of Yar's Revenge with Killspace Entertainment and published by Atari. In this version, Yar has been redesigned as a humanoid female in mechanized power armor. This version was released as downloadable title on April 12th 2011 for Xbox Live Arcade and April 28th 2011 for Microsoft Windows.

This new incarnation of Yar’s Revenge features modernized graphics while staying true to its roots with classic side scrolling shooter action. The game is set across several levels filled with enemies that must be destroyed before they reach you or your base will be destroyed. You can also collect special upgrades that give you new abilities such as improved weapons or shields against stronger foes. Additionally there are bonus stages that can earn you extra points which adds more replay value to the experience.

Overall this remake does justice to the original source material while bringing it into the modern era with updated visuals and sound effects along with additional content such as bonus levels .
