Players took on the role of battlefield commander, directing their troops against an enemy force that was determined to conquer America.

The environment in which these battles unfolded was incredibly dynamic, as maps featured fully destructible environments where crumbling buildings and exploding bridges added to the intensity of combat. Every battle provided different tactical opportunities and presented new challenges for players to overcome.

Players could choose from one of four military factions: US Army Rangers & Air Force; NATO forces (British & German); Russian forces (Spetsnaz & Air Assault); or Global Liberation Forces (Middle Eastern rebels). All sides were well balanced and each faction had access to its own unique arsenal of weapons ranging from tanks and artillery pieces to helicopters and fighter jets – all at your disposal!

World in Conflict's single player campaign offered up some engaging missions such as fighting off waves of enemies while defending a bridge or launching surprise attacks against enemy bases deep behind lines. The story itself followed Captain Parker’s journey through war torn Europe as he attempted to turn back invading forces before they reached American shores.

For those who prefer multiplayer action there are several modes available including standard deathmatch games or team based strategic objectives like domination where teams must capture points on the map while protecting their base from attack by enemy forces. No matter how you play it World in Conflict offers intense action set amidst some truly breathtaking visuals making it an absolute classic among strategy gamers everywhere!
