Tales of Xillia is an action role-playing video game from Namco Bandai that was released in 2011. The story follows two protagonists, Jude Mathis, a clever medical student attending school in the capital city and Milla Maxwell, a mysterious woman accompanied by four unseen beings. Players have the choice to play as either Milla or Jude at the start of their journey through Rieze Maxia, a world where humans and spirits live together peacefully.

The kingdom of Rashugal has been experimenting with powerful devices that are draining mana from the world around them; this threatens to cause great harm if left unchecked. Understanding this danger, both Milla and Jude set off on a mission to destroy these machines and restore balance back to the land. On their journey they will meet many characters who help expand their understanding of courage and strength while also teaching them how important convictions can be when faced with difficult situations.

Throughout Tales of Xillia players are given multiple opportunities to customize their character’s abilities by using various weapons, magic spells and special attacks known as ‘Artes’ which allow for strategic combat against enemies such as monsters or other opponents encountered during gameplay.
