Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed is an expansion to the Star Wars Galaxies franchise that allows players to explore space and engage in exciting real-time combat. Players are given access to 15 different vehicles, ranging from starfighters and other starships such as X-wings and TIE fighters, to transport ships like the Millennium Falcon. Set between Episode IV and V of Star Wars, this extension opens 10 distinct sectors for exploration with more than 100 new missions set in asteroid fields, nebulae and space junkyards. Additionally, four new professions have been added along with two customizable species.

Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed is an expansion pack to the MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies that was released in 2004. This expansion finally allowed players to explore and battle in ten sectors of outer space, with more than twenty types of starships from the era between Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope and Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back. It also added real-time space shooter elements for an interesting combination with the turn-based mode already featured in ground combat.

The new Pilot sub-profession allows players to choose one of three factions - Rebel, Imperial or Freelance - when engaging in space combat. Players can fly their ships around a variety of locations including Kessel and Deep Space as well as the 10 planets featured in game. The real time action requires quick reflexes just like a first person shooter while playing with a joystick is optional at player's discretion.

Jump To Lightspeed also adds many additional features such as missions, two new races (Sullustan & Ithorian) and four professions associated with space exploration & combat activities; Shipwright, Bounty Hunter, Smuggler & Trader professions are amongst them all offering different experiences within this vast universe! Shipwrights have ability to create ships, shields armor weapons etc for players alongwith reverse engineering looted components from spaces into better ones too!
