Red Faction: Armageddon is the fourth installment in the Red Faction series, a third-person shooter video game developed by Volition and published by THQ. Set fifty years after the events of Red Faction: Guerrilla, this game takes place on the planet Mars in 2175.

Players control Darius Mason, an engineer turned mercenary who must protect his home colony from an alien threat known as The Plague. Players can use various weapons such as assault rifles, shotguns and rocket launchers to battle their way through hordes of enemies as they progress through diverse environments such as underground tunnels and abandoned cities. In addition to traditional shooting mechanics, players can also use Nanotech abilities which allow them to manipulate objects with telekinetic powers or create force fields for protection against enemy fire. Players will also be able to upgrade their weapons using salvage collected during missions or purchased from merchants throughout the world.

The game features several multiplayer modes including Team Deathmatch and Infestation where up to 16 players can compete in epic battles across expansive maps while vying for valuable resources such as shields and ammunition boosters that are scattered throughout each map.
