Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee is a classic video game and the first entry in the Oddworld universe. Set in the dystopian world of Oddworld, players take on the role of Abe, a meek Mudokon who must rely on his cunning to survive against overwhelming odds. Featuring pre-rendered backgrounds and CG movies that advance its story, this platformer combines puzzle-solving elements with tight action sequences.

Abe is an underdog - he cannot use weapons and will be killed instantly by enemies if confronted directly. Therefore, most of the game involves careful exploration, timing your actions correctly and sneaking around to outsmart foes through various means such as throwing stones or luring them into traps. Moreover, Abe can run, jump, climb tiptoe crouch and roll; these abilities are essential for his survival throughout much of the game. Additionally there are stages where you ride Elum – a large animal – which give it even more depth!

The only special power at Abe's disposal is chanting which allows him to stun certain enemies temporarily or possess them outright; when possessing an enemy you gain access to their unique abilities such as shooting from machine guns or communicating with other creatures like themselves. Possessing someone also gives you access to new areas so it really pays off!
