Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes is a GameCube release that combines the best features of two previous games in the series, Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. Players take on the role of Solid Snake, a retired spy called out to infiltrate an Alaskan nuclear base. As they progress through their mission, they discover secret military projects and details about their past. Stealth is usually key to success but if needed, players have access to an array of weapons including pistols, rifles, missiles and sniper rifles for combat situations.

Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes is an updated remake of the 1998 PlayStation game Metal Gear Solid. Developed by Silicon Knights and Konami, it was released exclusively on the Nintendo GameCube in 2004. Originally intended to be a straight port of the original game, Hideo Kojima and Shigeru Miyamoto's involvement led to additional features being added to give players a new experience.
The Twin Snakes features significant graphical improvements over the original game, with improved character models and textures as well as enhanced lighting effects for more realistic environments. Cutscenes have been rewritten and directed by Ryuhei Kitamura for greater immersion into the story line. Additionally, gameplay functions from Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty have been included such as first person shooting mode and evasive rolls that make it easier for players to avoid enemy fire or get out of tight spots quickly.
The voice acting has also been re-recorded using all of the same English voice cast from Metal Gear Solid which gives fans a more familiar experience when interacting with characters throughout their journey. With these upgrades, gamers can now play Metal Gear Solid in its truest form while still experiencing something new due to its various additions that are sure to keep them entertained until they reach its conclusion.
