GrimGrimoire is a unique real-time strategy video game developed by Vanillaware and published by Nippon Ichi Software. Players assume the role of Lillet Blan, an aspiring young magician who enrolls in a prestigious and mysterious magic school only to find out that on the fifth day of class, everyone has mysteriously vanished. The story follows Lillet as she discovers that time has reset itself back to the first day of school, allowing her to use her memories from before the disappearance to uncover the truth and prevent it from happening again.

The gameplay revolves around using magical spells in battles against enemy forces while also constructing buildings such as mana factories which are needed for resource gathering. There are five main types of magical spells; summoning creatures, healing spells, attack magic, defensive magic and special attacks such as resurrecting dead creatures or raising walls for protection. Each type is associated with one of five different elemental themes including dark arts, fire & ice magics, nature magics etc., each with their own advantages and disadvantages depending on certain battle conditions.

Players can customize their characters by equipping them with different items like rings or talismans which grant additional stats or abilities in battle; there’s also an expansive research system where players can develop new spells or weapons through experimentation at various laboratories located throughout the game’s world.
