Gothic 3 is a video game set in the fictional world of Myrtana, where humans have been enslaved by invading Orcs. Players can choose to join the rebellion and help tip the scales of war in favor of humanity, or serve under the Orcish Usurpers. The story arc is non-linear and unique each time it is played, with players ultimately deciding on the fate of Myrtana. It follows up from Gothic I and II's storyline, which saw players saving an island from evil forces.

Gothic 3 is the third installment of the popular fantasy-themed role-playing game series from German game developer Piranha Bytes. The game was released throughout the European Union on October 13, 2006 and became available in North America beginning November 20, 2006. The English version of Gothic 3 is widely available although its native release is in German.

Gothic 3 offers an expansive world filled with a variety of quests and enemies to battle against, as well as real-time combat mechanics. Players take control of their character’s destiny by choosing which faction they wish to align themselves with during their adventure; each faction has its own storyline that will affect how events unfold for your character further down the line.

Players can also customize their characters with different skills and abilities via a skill tree system similar to many other RPGs (role playing games). Every action taken within Gothic 3 contributes towards levelling up your character and unlocking powerful new abilities or spells. You can also acquire new equipment through crafting recipes or finding loot drops from defeated foes on your journey across Myrtana – the main landmass featured in Gothic 3 where most of your adventures will take place.

In addition to its single player content, Gothic 3 features both online co-op play as well as competitive multiplayer modes – allowing players to face off against one another using custom characters created within the game’s robust class system. A Collector's Edition was also released containing bonus collectible material . JoWooD later released a standalone expansion entitled 'Gothic3: Forsaken Gods'on November 21st 2008 - adding even more content for fans of this beloved franchise!
