Gitaroo Man Lives! is a unique and exciting music rhythm game that puts a new twist on the classic genre. Players take control of Gitaroo-Man as they battle various musical themed villains, timing button presses and moving an analog stick around in a radar circle to follow a line passing through the center point. Up to four players can join in using the multitap feature, with their choice of characters, songs, and locales.

The game also features Ad-Hoc multiplayer capabilities so players can play locally with each other and additional difficulty options for more experienced gamers. One of the newest additions to Gitaroo Man Lives! is Duet mode, which introduces two exclusive stages – Metal Header and Toda Pasión – where both Gitaroo Man and Kirah must be controlled by two different players at once or alone if Ad-Hoc is activated. This adds an extra level of challenge while still keeping true to its core gameplay mechanics making it suitable for all skill levels.
