Escape Dead Island is a Survival-Mystery adventure that follows Cliff Calo, the son of an influential media mogul. He sets sail to document the mysterious events occurring on Banoi, a tropical island in the South Pacific. When he arrives at Narapela, another nearby island, it soon becomes clear that something sinister is happening; inhabitants are turning into zombies and there seems to be no way off the island.

Players take control of Cliff as they explore Narapela and its surrounding areas while attempting to uncover what’s behind this horrific transformation. The game takes place in an open world environment with numerous locations available for exploration including jungles, beaches and abandoned villages. Players must fight their way through hordes of undead enemies while solving puzzles and collecting clues which help piece together what has happened on the islands.

The zombie outbreak is seen from a unique perspective as players encounter psychological horrors such as hallucinations and insanity which add tension to Escape Dead Island's gameplay experience.
