Dynasty Warriors: Godseekers is set in the final days of the Later Han Period in China. The video game "Dynasty Warriors: Godseekers" follows renowned warrior Zhao Yun and his close friend Lei Bin in the chaotic end days of the Han dynasty in ancient China. The two friends find themselves embroiled in a pivotal struggle for the salvation of the world when they unwittingly liberate a mysterious young girl, Lixia, from a mystical prison.

Throughout their journey to unravel the mystery behind Lixia's imprisonment, Zhao Yun and Lei Bin must navigate through an era filled with internal strife, uprisings, and great warriors – all while attempting to prevent terrible fates from occurring. To that end, players can experience classic Dynasty Warriors-style action by participating in historic battles as either Zhao Yun or Lei Bin using an array of weapons and special attacks unique to each character. They will also meet numerous characters along their quest who can be recruited into their party as allies; these allies provide extra support during battle with abilities such as healing and ranged attacks.

In addition to intense real-time combat reminiscent of previous Dynasty Warriors titles, players will also take part in strategic turn-based battles where they'll deploy troops across large battlefields modeled after actual locations from Three Kingdoms era China.
