Red Steel 2 is an action-packed video game released by Ubisoft in 2009 and set in a futuristic Japan. The story follows the unnamed Hero, the last member of the Kusagari Clan who is kidnapped and taken away on a motorcycle by Payne, leader of the Jackals - a dangerous gang of thugs, murderers and thieves. Fortunately for our hero he manages to break free but not before Payne steals his katana - leaving him weaponless against any potential danger.

Not long after this initial escape attempt, our hero runs into his old swordsmaster Jian who was about to be executed by the Jackals. In an act of heroic selflessness he decides to rescue his master from certain death and Jian returns the favor by allowing him to borrow one of his swords until he can recover his own from Payne. With this newfound weapon in hand it's now up to our hero to embark on an epic journey through futuristic Japan while battling both human enemies as well as powerful robotic foes controlled by artificial intelligence - all with hopes that one day soon he will have recovered what was stolen from him: His Katana!
