Crimson Skies is a video game series set in an alternate history of the 1930s, created by Jordan Weisman and Larry McCoy. In this timeline, the United States has fractured into several smaller countries and air travel has become the primary mode of transportation for North America. This unique setting has allowed air pirates to flourish and take on a central role in Crimson Skies.

The games feature exciting dogfights between various aircraft such as biplanes, seaplanes, tri-motors, helicopters and blimps - all equipped with machine guns or cannons. Players can choose from over 20 different pilots hailing from various factions across North America while they explore the world of Crimson Skies. The missions are varied - ranging from stealing cargo to raiding bases - allowing players to experience life as an infamous pirate in this fantastical world.
