In the video game Darksiders, players take on the role of War, one of the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. The time for the great Apocalypse has come and War must use his powers to rain destruction down upon Earth. However, it soon becomes apparent that someone has betrayed him and his fellow Horseman as they are blamed for bringing about this premature destruction and stripped off their powers. War must embark on an epic quest to seek revenge against those who have wronged him while also seeking redemption by restoring his awesome abilities in a battle between angels and demons.

Darksiders II is a video game that follows the story of DEATH, one of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse. The game runs parallel to events in the original Darksiders game and sees DEATH travelling through various light and dark realms in an attempt to redeem his brother WAR who was blamed for starting the Apocalypse prematurely. Along his journey, DEATH must battle against enemies as well as traverse treacherous landscapes while trying to restore balance between Heaven and Hell.
