The Beatles: Rock Band is a video game released by MTV Games in 2009. It allows players to take on the roles of John, Paul, George and Ringo as they progress through the band's musical career from 1963 to 1969. Players can enjoy three-part vocal harmonies and previously unreleased authentic voice recordings from the Fab Four during studio sessions recorded at Abbey Road more than four decades ago. The game follows their journey from The Cavern Club in Liverpool England, to their memorable concert at Budokan in Tokyo Japan in 1966, culminating with their final performance on the rooftop of Apple Corps Headquarters in 1969. Special hardware representing instruments made famous by The Beatles are also included such as Rickenbacker 325 and Gretsch Duo Jet guitars used by John Lennon and George Harrison respectively, a Höfner bass controller used by Sir Paul McCartney and a Ludwig-branded Rock Band 2 drum set inspired by Ringo Starr.
