Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga is a video game set in the town of Junkyard, where endless rain falls. The main character Serf and his four companions belong to a tribe called Embryon and they are on a mission to reach Nirvana, which can only be reached by champions of Junkyard. Suddenly, mysterious object the Pod appears and emits countless spheres of light that infect them with demonic powers. A dark-haired girl named Sera rescues them and has the power to control their transformation. They are ordered by the Church of Karma to head for Nirvana accompanied by her and whoever reaches there first will be declared as champions of Junkyard. Throughout their journey they must fight against other tribes who have also been transformed while discovering secrets related to Sera's mysterious power. In order to survive they must devour their enemies' flesh and absorb their devastating powers as well as special abilities!
