All about game World War III: Black Gold

World War III: Black Gold is a real-time strategy video game released in 2001, developed by Reality Pump Studios and published by JoWooD Productions. This game takes the player to the near future where global oil reserves are dangerously low and the world stands at the brink of World War III.

The story begins with a secret conference of the UN Central Geological Commission revealing that worldwide oil reserves will run out within 8-10 years. This proves too short for even highly industrialized countries to switch their economies to alternative energy sources, leading to mass protests erupting all over the world and effectively shutting down the global economy. With these events unfolding, The Great Powers have declared WWIII and players take control as either an Allied or Axis commander fighting for supremacy across Europe.

Gameplay consists of building bases, gathering resources such as money and fuel from nearby locations, researching new technologies and constructing units which can be used offensively or defensively against enemy forces. Players must also manage morale levels among their troops in order to keep them fighting effectively while taking into account environmental factors such as weather conditions that can affect combat outcomes drastically. In addition there are several other strategic elements like espionage missions where you send spies behind enemy lines in order gather information about their activity before launching your own attacks accordingly.

Overall World War III: Black Gold offers gamers an immersive experience into a futuristic conflict between two powerful factions vying for control over scant resources left on earth due to dwindling oil supplies - making it both a challenging strategy title but also one full of political intrigue worthy of its name!
