Tetris 99 is the latest in a long line of block-dropping puzzle games, but with one major twist: it’s a battle royale! Up to 99 players are pitted against each other in a race to be the last player standing.

The gameplay itself is identical to that of regular Tetris – you must rotate and place blocks on top of each other as they fall from the sky. As your towers grow higher, you will gain points and eventually clear level after level. But while this may sound familiar, there’s an extra layer of strategy involved due to all those opponents!

As your levels progress and your tower grows taller, so too does the pressure from all those other players. As soon as any one opponent clears their screen before you do, they will send ‘garbage blocks’ over to yours – cluttering up your space with unwanted pieces and making it harder for you to continue playing. You can also choose which opponents’ screens will receive these garbage blocks by targeting them directly or launching attacks at random foes.

It adds an extra layer of complexity that makes Tetris 99 unique amongst its competitors; no longer is it just about clearing lines quickly - now it's about outsmarting 98 other people at the same time! The key lies in picking suitable strategies for different scenarios; whether that means targeting specific enemies or sending out wide-scale attacks depends entirely on what works best for you at any given moment during playtime.
