Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment is a Japanese role-playing game based on the popular Sword Art Online light novel series. It is the second video game in the series and combines elements of both a MMORPG and dating sim. The player takes control of Kirito, who has been trapped in a virtual reality MMORPG where dying in-game will lead to his death in real life as well.

The game contains over one hundred recruitable characters which can be chosen to accompany the player through the various dungeons they explore while playing. There is also limited multiplayer support for up to four players via ad hoc connection. A key component of Hollow Fragment is that it includes content from Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment, which was released for PlayStation Portable previously and exists within an alternate storyline from that found within its anime adaptation counterpart.

Players must use their strategic wits and combat skills when exploring dungeons filled with monsters, bosses, items, treasures and more while attempting to get closer towards clearing all 100 levels of Aincrad - something no other character has managed before them! With new unexplored areas added into this version of Sword Art Online, there are plenty even seasoned fans have yet to discover.
