Super Mario Maker is a revolutionary game that allows players to create their own levels and play those made by others. This new Wii U title from Nintendo lets people's imaginations run wild, giving them the ability to make levels as easy or difficult as they like. The Wii U GamePad controller also makes it simple for anyone to design stages with just a few taps of the stylus.

Friends can now have an even more enjoyable time playing through each other’s created levels in Super Mario Maker. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Super Mario Bros., Nintendo has released two special amiibo figures—Mario modern and classic—which unlock different features when tapped on the Wii U GamePad while playing. Adding Big Mushroom power-ups allows Mario to grow big and bust blocks from any direction, plus gives players access to retro visual filters reminiscent of older cathode ray tube televisions.

Many other compatible amiibo will add Mystery Mushrooms which transform Mario into characters such as Link, Kirby or Wii Fit Trainer complete with character animations and sound effects!
