The goal is to get the highest score possible before losing all of your lives. Sol Cresta is a modern take on the classic shooting games Moon Cresta and Terra Cresta, developed by PlatinumGames as part of their NEO-CLASSIC ARCADE series. The game puts you in control of the Yamato - composed of three ships called Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi and Susano - as you fight against an invading army from Mandler. What makes Sol Cresta unique compared to other shooting games is its “free-form docking” system that allows for more strategic play.

Players must use their wits and skill to master how to dock, split, and form up the Yamato at just the right time in order to defeat enemies while avoiding damage. By strategically positioning your ships side-by-side or in different formations, various attacks can be used depending on the situation at hand. With practice comes experience and eventually players will be able to chain together devastating combos using all three ships simultaneously!
