Slipstream is a modern take on the classic OutRun and SEGA racing games of the 90s. The game has been inspired by Initial D, Vaporwave & Synthwave aesthetics and has an authentic retro feel while being wrapped in a modern shell. It was funded via Kickstarter back in 2016 but suffered from delays before finally releasing for PC in 2018.

The game utilizes its own pseudo3D engine which provides an immersive gaming experience that captures the spirit of 90s arcades. Players can choose from different cars with varying stats such as acceleration, top speed and handling to compete against other racers on various tracks around the world including Japan, Germany, Mexico and more. There are also multiple camera angles available so players can switch between them during races for better visibility or simply to change up their view point if they get bored of one angle.

Players have access to several gameplay modes such as Time Attack mode where you race against your past best time or Challenge Mode where you complete certain tasks within a limited amount of time like drifting around corners or overtaking opponents for bonus points. With these challenges comes rewards such as unlocking new cars and upgrading existing ones with special parts found throughout each track.
