Sid Meier's Civilization VI: Rise and Fall is an expansion for the turn-based strategy video game Civilization VI. This expansion introduces new challenges, strategies, and choices to guide a civilization through the ages. Players can choose from eight new civilizations, nine new leaders, as well as a variety of units, districts, wonders, buildings and more.

The Rise and Fall expansion brings with it three distinct elements; Great Ages, Loyalty and Governors systems which add depth to Diplomacy and Government systems already in place in Civ 6. In addition to this there are also additional features such as Emergency Situations which require players to address crisis that occur when two or more people declare war on each other at once.

The Great Ages system encourages growth by rewarding players based on their accomplishments over time - if they're able to accumulate enough points then they will be rewarded with either a Golden Age (which grants bonuses) or Dark Age (which imposes penalties). The Loyalty system allows cities to become independent if your rule is unpopular or mismanaged while the Governor’s system grants bonus effects when you assign them specific roles within your empire.
