There are 30 challenging missions set in three new environments - San Francisco, Southampton/Cowes/Solent, and Marseille - with six new ships that feature walkthrough functionality and interactive bridge controls. Players can also control a container crane as they explore the sea chart based on 3D seabed models displayed in full screen mode. Other features include visible damage system for showing dents and holes after collisions, free roam mode where all weather parameters can be customized, advanced rope system for connecting player ships to other vessels or mooring boulders, icebergs that cause damage when collided with them, and extensive mapping options for keys and joystick buttons.
