Saints Row 2 is an open-world action-adventure video game developed by Volition and published by THQ. It was released in 2008 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Microsoft Windows. The game is the sequel to 2006’s Saints Row and follows up on the events of its predecessor.

The player controls the protagonist from Saints Row who has awoken from a coma to find that his gang, the Third Street Saints, have been decimated by three rival gangs: The Sons of Samedi, The Brotherhood, and The Ronin. In order to rebuild their powerbase in Stilwater, you must help him reclaim control over the city one section at a time through missions ranging from bank robberies to car chases. As your influence grows so too will your enemies as they seek to take back what's theirs; including Ultor Corporation which seeks to eradicate gang violence once and for all!

The gameplay involves completing various activities such as racing against other players or engaging in turf wars with rival gangs while also taking part in story missions alongside allies like Julius Little or Shaundi who provide advice throughout your journey. You can customize weapons using upgrades bought with money earned during jobs while also building relationships with non-player characters (NPCs) located around town — some of whom may even become loyal followers if given enough respect points! Additionally there are mini-games such as Insurance Fraud where you earn cash rewards for running into traffic & getting injured intentionally – just watch out for police officers!
