Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love is a strategy RPG that combines an engaging storyline with unique game mechanics. The game begins with the protagonist, Shinjiro Taiga, arriving at the New York Combat Revue to help defend against invading forces. Players will be able to choose from multiple characters and determine their relationships throughout the story as they progress.

The battle system of Sakura Wars features two different modes; ground combat and air combat. In ground combat players use mech units which can transform into jet fighters during battles for added versatility in tactics. Each character's weapon differs between the two modes, allowing for strategic switching between them according to each situation. For example, Shinjiro Taiga uses a sword on foot but switches to long-range missiles when he transforms his mech into a jet fighter mode.

In addition to tactical battles players must also interact with other characters in order to progress through the story and ultimately affect its outcome. Character interactions play an important role as player responses can change not just storylines but even endings depending on how you respond or what choices you make while playing this game..
