Dynasty Warriors 3 is an action-packed video game set in China during the Three Kingdoms period. The game is the third installment in the Dynasty Warriors series and second installment of Shin Sangokumusou series in Japan. It is a spin-off from the popular video game Romance of the Three Kingdoms, based around a series of books by Luo Guanzhong with both fictional and non-fictional elements from that era.

The main objective for players to achieve within Dynasty Warriors 3 is to unify China under one kingdom's rule through conquest, forming alliances and defeating enemies. Players control a warrior from one of four different kingdoms: Wei, Wu, Shu or Jin who can battle their way to victory across ancient China while recruiting officers along their journey. Throughout your adventure you will be presented with various tasks such as rescuing hostages or capturing enemy strongholds which need to be completed before advancing on towards total unification.

Players have access to multiple weapons like swords and spears as well as special attacks including Musou Mode that unleashes powerful moves capable of taking out multiple enemies at once!
