The story centers on these brave survivors who are tasked with protecting young Ellie Langford, whose mysterious immunity grants her protection from dementia which has been randomly afflicting their allies and turning them into Necromorphs. With no other options available, it falls upon this ragtag group of heroes to traverse the treacherous colony and make it safely to Ishimura before time runs out for all humanity.

Gameplay wise, Dead Space: Extraction features many classic elements from both first-person shooters and rail shooters such as puzzles, platforming sections and intense shootouts against hordes of enemies. Throughout players’ journey they will also find weapons upgrades that can be used strategically against Necromorphs while exploring claustrophobic environments filled with secrets waiting to be discovered.
