It is the third installment in the Darksiders series, following on from 2010's Darksiders II. Players take on the role of FURY, one of the Four Horsemen of The Apocalypse tasked with restoring balance between good and evil by hunting down and disposing of Seven Deadly Sins.

The game takes place across a vast apocalyptic world that has been ravaged by war and overrun with nature. Fury must travel back and forth between locations as she uncovers secrets while advancing the story.
