Dance Central 2 is the sequel to the hit dance game Dance Central, developed by Harmonix and published by Microsoft Studios. It was released in October 2011 exclusively for the Xbox 360 Kinect motion sensing peripheral. The core gameplay remains mostly unchanged from its predecessor; players must accurately perform given dance moves which are tracked by the Kinect. Points are scored based on how well a player performs each move, with higher difficulties increasing complexity and reducing margin of error.

New features included in Dance Central 2 include voice control, allowing players to change songs or difficulty levels without lifting a finger; simultaneous two-player gameplay in both cooperative and competitive modes with drop-in/drop-out functionality; an improved fitness mode that tracks calories burned during play sessions; Break it Down mode which allows players to practice specific moves within routines; and a campaign mode featuring various styles of dance crews.
